27 Days..... and yesterday the last Fuji X lens I had on order shipped. Thanks to our one stop shop for all our camera gear (link below) for coming through when all others are still barking a 1 month back order date down the line !!
27 days...... and Fuji has completely won me over with colour profiling and noise suppression. Simply put, nothing short of fantastic!! Sure the focus isn't lightning fast but WHO CARES. If you are only interested in the technical and the spec list then you might as well stop reading now......
If you are still with me and didn't skip to the sample shots below, allow me to continue. I am still looking, pondering every night when I lie in bed trying to describe the feeling the Fuji has plagued me with. Their camera and lenses have given me a sense of freedom and my creativity its annual service. Fuji created something special, there is a specific magic when holding and working with this camera. It becomes part of your soul and works with you when solving lighting and compositional challenges rather than encumbering your mood and passion. No other camera has given me the joy nor ability to create without the burden or intimidation that larger equipment imposes. Building a relationship with strangers and asking to shove a lens in their face is welcomed rather than flagged. The X Pro 1 has left me with a confidence knowing the approaching portrait is not perverse with a cowering photographer behind his beastly camera and lens.
I hope the diversity of images and the quality of what I have produced shows not only how versatile but also how open ended the possibilities for image creation with this tool are. My DSLR continues to gather dust and while I have shot with the Fuji in and around the streets and markets of Auckland, come rain or shine, taken the camera camping and on our most recent community project came away with some stunning images,
Lastly I also participated as a guest photographer at the Very Vintage Day Out (VVDO) catching some lovely fairytale moments. For each shutter actuation, premeditated or not the camera was faced with numerous challenges, nothing the two of us couldn't work through and I continue to push.
I hope you enjoy the images,
